World Pride unites Muslims and Jews

That's not a good thing. According to Faith and Action , "EVEN IN THE MIDST OF WAR, ARAB MUSLIM LEADERS HAVE OFFERED TO MAKE PEACE SO THEY CAN WORK WITH JEWISH AND CHRISTIAN LEADERS TO KEEP THE HOLY LAND HOLY!"

Apparently, World Pride, the gay and lesbian pride festival scheduled for Aug. 6-12 in Jerusalem, is going to be a little different than Cincinnati Pride, or any others that I've heard of. Seems it's going to be "an extravagant orgy of pornography, illicit sexual behavior and blatant recruitment of young people."

Fortunately, the Orthodox Jewish community has announced they will "use their bodies" to prevent children from seeing disgraceful public nudity and sexual acts.... (I had something more to say about that, but in the interest of good taste, decided to keep it to myself.)

Meanwhile, homophobes in Israel have an opportunity to make big bucks off of World Pride. A leaflet has been going around "offering what amounts to $4,500 to anyone who kills a gay person. The flyer reportedly refers to gays as 'corrupt animals' who seek to defile as many Israeli children as possible." Source: How can Israelis be antigay?

It's sad to see the plight of LGBT folk in other parts of the world. We still have a lot of issues here in the US, but we also have a lot to be thankful for.

We all need to make a special effort to pray for peace in Jerusalem Aug. 6-12, no matter where we stand on the "gay issue".
