Thank you, Thank you
for the comments you left to my questions! Your thoughts were very insightful, for that matter I had not even considered the second comment
If you do not mind I will probably venture back to poke about your Journal a wee bit
Its rather late here and i just wanted t say a quick hello before bed. I will return to look at your pictures. Have a good week
I can't say a lot about this church, being as this my first visit and it was not a typical service. The pastor was not the speaker today, so I haven't heard him preach yet, but I did hear him speaking in tongues. That alone will tell you this is no ordinary Baptist church.
As some of you may know, I have been on the Great Church Hunt for well over a year now. I am basically a Baptist at heart, but I do believe in tongues and the other gifts of the Spirit. This one looks promising.
The speakers were two women who had just come off a week long retreat for abused women. Their testimonies were powerful. The altar call at the end went well over an hour and was still going on when I left. People weren't just weeping, many were sobbing, and a few were actually wailing.
Even grumpy old men like me.
The only complaint I have is the music was much too loud. It was great music, but LOUD, rock concert loud, the kind of loud where you can feel the vibrations in your gut (which isn't helpful to the digestion).
Maybe next time I'll take my earplugs.
And there will definitely be a next time. Trinity seems to meet all the criteria I've been looking for. It's Baptist, obviously a bit more open-minded than some other Baptist churches I've seen, and it's only a 20 minute walk from where I live (and I can walk along the river to get there).
Of course, I've learned through bitter experience not to get my hopes up too much. I still have to hear the pastor preach and I've found it usually takes me at least a month or more to really get a feel for a church. But this one shows more promise than any of the others I've visited in a long time.
Maybe I'll have finally found my new church home.
